A Cobbly Nob Cabin Built for Slow Mornings and Long Evenings
Cobbly Nob sits east of Gatlinburg along Highway 321, close enough that downtown is about twenty minutes away, and far enough that the loudest thing at night is the creek and the wind in the trees. It's a gated mountain community wrapped around the fairways of Bent Creek Golf Course, and it's where we chose to make The Smoky Edit our family's home away from home.
If you've been searching for a Gatlinburg cabin without the Parkway traffic outside your window, this is the side of the mountains we'd point you toward.
Why Cobbly Nob
It's gated. Guests come and go through the community gate, which keeps the roads quiet and the pace unhurried.
It's got its own amenities. Cobbly Nob guests have access to community pools (seasonal), tennis courts, pickleball, and a basketball court, so there's something to do even on a day you never leave the neighborhood.
It's next door to the national park's quiet entrance. The Greenbrier entrance to Great Smoky Mountains National Park is about ten minutes away. The road winds along the Little Pigeon River to some of the best hiking in the Smokies, with a fraction of the crowds you'll find at Sugarlands.
It's close to the good stuff without being in it. The Gatlinburg Arts & Crafts Community is about ten minutes away. Pigeon Forge, Dollywood, and whitewater rafting are each about twenty-five.
